Audio lab · runs in your browser

See every sound.

Drop in a recording to measure its loudness, read its spectrum, clean it up and export a WAV. Your audio never leaves this device.

Trim silence

Removes quiet lead-in and tail below the threshold.

−36 dB

Noise gate

Mutes hiss between phrases. Opens fast, closes gently.

−42 dB
120 ms

3-band EQ

+0.0 dB
+2.0 dB
−3.0 dB

Normalise

−16 LUFS

Peak never goes above −1 dBFS, so loudness targets stay clean.

Ready. Adjust the chain, then render.

Presets 1 on Free

Save the chain settings above and bring them back later. Presets are kept in this browser.

Batch Pro

Run the current chain on several files at once. Each result gets its own player below.

Batch is part of Pro and Studio. See plans.

What it does

Every tool here works on the file you load. Nothing is uploaded.

Loudness you can trust

Peak, RMS and an integrated loudness estimate with K-weighting and gating, so you know if a clip will sound too quiet or too hot next to others.

BS.1770-style · 400 ms blocks · −70 / −10 LU gates

A real spectrogram

A short-time Fourier transform of every channel, drawn on a log frequency scale. Hum, hiss and harsh peaks show up as lines and bands.

2048-point FFT · Hann · 75 % overlap

Clean-up chain

Trim silence, gate the noise floor, shape tone with three EQ bands and set a level, then compare original and processed side by side.

Shelf 120 Hz · Bell 1.5 kHz · Shelf 8 kHz

Lossless export

The processed audio is written as an uncompressed WAV at the original sample rate and channel count, ready for an editor or a podcast host.

16-bit PCM on Free · 24-bit on Pro

How it works

Echo decodes your file with the browser's own audio engine, then does the maths in this page. The file is read from your device into memory and stays there. Close the tab and it is gone.

  1. Decode the file into floating-point samples.
  2. Measure peak, RMS and gated K-weighted loudness.
  3. Run the STFT and paint the spectrogram.
  4. Render your chain offline, sample by sample, and re-measure.
  5. Encode the result as a WAV you can play and keep.

The signal path, in order:

input ─▶ trim (threshold) ─▶ gate (threshold, release) ─▶ low shelf 120 Hz ─▶ bell 1.5 kHz ─▶ high shelf 8 kHz ─▶ normalise (peak | loudness, ceiling −1 dBFS) ─▶ WAV

The loudness figure follows the published ITU-R BS.1770 method, but it is a browser measurement, not a certified meter. Use it as a close guide.
